We have a Frigidaire stand-alone dehumidifier in our basement of our old house. Right now the temperature is 70 degrees and the humidity 70 percent. Central air has been off for several days.
If the humidifier runs for a long period of time and although it does not happen all of the time, white ice will form on the back of the unit. Eventually it will become a solid mass of ice, blocking most of the air flow.
Used to work fine when we first purchased it used, taking the humidity as low as 50%.
Any ideas?
