I want to buy a '99 Riviera and one of the tubes has a dent in the rear and near the weld. There is no obvious break in the surface and the boat has been in the water according to the seller with no problem. Is this acceptable and does anyone have any suggestions?

Welcome to iboats.

That is no different than buying a car with a dent in the fender, if the boat has been in the water and doesn't leak I wouldn't worry about it, it is just cosmetic.

If he has a trailer get the boat on it and drive forward a feet feet then stop fast, listen to the tube, if there is water you will hear it sloshing around.

I have a 1986 Riveria Crusier 24 ft long & it has a dent in the rear log & the keel is bent as well. It stayed in the water for 15 yrs before I bought & there is no sign of any water in mine. I'd go with it if it were me but follow the advice of others by checking it out first for any sounds of water inside.

inspect welds with mirrow you will see a crack easier than with naked eye

Mine has a dent as well. I was told to leave it be if it doesn't leak. It doesn't.
