I have a question.I'm in the market for a new depth finder.I mainly fish for walleyes,I'm looking at a Eagle 480 or a Lowrance X-125.They are pretty much the same unit except that the X-125 has more power. My question is, Is the x-125 worth the extra $100.00?

Unless you fish extremely deep water, I don't see the need for more power. If they have the same pixel count, I'd go for the Eagle 480. Nice unit...

I have the x135 and it is a brilliant unit. Looked at the x125 and Eagle 480 and the only turn-off was the amber screen as I prefer white. I can only assume the software in the Eagle is just about identicle to the Lowrance.

eagle480 is an outstanding value best for the $$ imho, isn't it the same resolution as the x-125? if so, no way is it worth $100 more.

just my 2¢

X-125 does not have an amber screen. I have one and it is an excellent unit. But like already said, if you are just fishing fresh water, you don't need the power. Pixel count is much more important.
