I have an 18' bow rider that is white all around. I have trouble getting the boat real clean and white after use. Currently, I use boat washing liquid, a brush, and a hose. Do I need to buy the boat wash? It tends to be pretty pricey. Can I use regular soap or will that damage the finish? Should I ever use bleach to clean the boat? What is the best way to clean all of the vinyl seats? Does anybody have any tips from experience to get the best looking result? Lastly, should I upgrade to a pressure washer? I appreciate any tips and sorry for all the questions!

The best way to keep a boat clean is to use generous amounts of elbow grease and a good quality wax. After that use a car or boat wash and generous amount of freshwater.

I know I am new on this forum, but I have had a boat for 19 years now. Anyway, like up above, wax is the key. Create a good wax coat, and then it will be much easier to keep clean. Take some towels with you, and wipe it off when you trailer it. This gets the lake water off before it sets in. BTW, you might need to buff then wax depending on the condition.
I use simple green on most other area's of the boat.

Before you wax the boat, I would use a "cleaner wax". It will clean the "grunge" off of the white. Then I would follow up with a carnuba wax.

As for the interior, I also use Simple Green, it works very well, just be cautious on how much of a concentrate you use. A heavy concentrate will clean fast, but if left on too long, it MAY do damage. Spray Nine cleaner will also work equally as well.

I use a good auto paste wax in the spring and only need to wash with simple green when I pull it out. Wiping it down when you pull it out helps tremendously. I do trailer my boat so its not sitting in water all season.
I would stay away from the upholstry cleaners with harsh chemicals and bleach is a definate no-no. It may clean the mildew the fastest but its also destroying the vinyl and the stitching.
