Determining Hull Structure/Stability?

15' Starcraft 1968. Fiberglass Runabout.<br /><br />I want to paint the boat also want to make sure it's worth painting. i never put it in the water- i knowt he hull is solid and it looks great- but ya never know what's going on under the boards :D <br /><br />Last summer i lifted the plywood floorboards. it was moist and dirty underthat but nothing really "scared" me.<br /><br />i don't know how to check the worthyness of the Stringers, Hull, etc. what is the best way to do this? when i looked at the stringers there were sitting there tightly and looked just fine ?? :confused: :D <br /><br />what checks can i do on MY OWN that don't require a professional to realize? <br />anything? i want to start painting soon so it all comes down to the boat itself..<br /><br />ANYONE OWN A 1960's OR early 70's Fiberglass STARCRAFT ??? i am interested in restoring it but i don't know what the other ones looks like- mine is the only i have seen.<br /><br />thanks alot<br />mike

When surveying wood in a boat, an Ice Pick is your Best friend....
