Took my boat to get winterized before deployment, figures I can de winterize it myself considering all you have to do is put the plugs back in since they didn’t use rv antifreeze and just drained it.

i installed these two brass plugs on the back of each manifold,
and put the plug for the block on where I believe it goes??? Wouldn’t mind some confirmation.

But heres this last thing they removed.... what is it and where does it go. It doesn’t look familiar. (Picture with item in hand)

Oh and you’ll never guess what I saw.... noticed they removed the engine oil cap ontop and never put it back on after oil change..... should be fine since engine hatch has been closed but still annoying.

What engine do you have? Model and year and preferably serial number.

Ahh yeah that’d help.
2001 Larson with a 5.7l gsi PEFS with outdrive sx-m

the motor was replaced with a marine power vortec motor but should be same hookups

Item 5 is the valve between the riser and a hose to the water passages in the intake manifold. Got any hoses not connected?

Right, that valve is a check valve to prevent a vaccum in the exhaust pulses from drawing water up into the exhaust elbows. Replace it because you will have raw, hot exhaust blasting out of the side of the exhaust elbows and it's dangerous because that is putting CO into the boat!

Don't know why in the world they removed that, no need to touch it for winterizing, as long as it was not cracked or leaking exhaust.
The other pic appears to be a pipe plug at the end of the exhaust manifold that can be used to drain water out, looks like they did not put it all the way back in. I think the square end of a 3/8ths drive ratchet can be used to tighten it, just get it snug not super tight. I like to put OMC gasket sealer or Permatex Aviation sealer on the threads to prevent corrosion.
The pic of the oil pan is just a block drain, looks different than others I've seen, but still a block drain.

Might want to learn how to do this stuff yourself, its easy and you will do a better job lol!

What your holding in your hand is the engine knock sensor.
It goes back on the brass t-fitting by the starter. The plug you put there probably belongs on the other side of the motor if you did not already install one there. There should be a electrical connector by the starter for you to plug back into the knock sensor.

Agree, that's a knock sensor and the wire that goes on it is Dark Blue and has a cap that goes on the end about as big around as the sensor

Cool so I believe cobalt is correct, found a cOnnector on the left side of the block where I thought the drain plug for block went and I installed it there and put the connector on.

i put the block drain plug on the right side of the block where I believe it goes..

i installed led the drain plugs on the back of the exhausts myself

my question is..... for the plugs should I use Teflon tape/ plumbers tape.??

And how tight do I need to right these things down.

Same goes for that “knock sensor”
