My new trailer came with Dexter vault hubs. Trailer shop says they don't need service/maintenance for 5 years. For anyone with these hubs, how often do you service them? Also, do you disassemble and repack, or just pump fresh grease in?

I'm currently at 2 years - I thought every other year would be a good interval.

I would suggest you read the service manual?

“Adding or changing the lubricant in the VAULT is not necessary or recommended for the first five years of service, or ten years with the extended warranty.”

SERVICE

The VAULT does not usually require any service. If you believe service is required, you must contact UFP before performing any work that would be covered under warranty.

Good to know, thanks.

Rephrase my question: Would you perform bearing/hub service more frequently than the suggested 5 year interval, even though you risk voiding the factory warranty?

Yes, I recommend reading the service manual.

and yes, if you get a peace of mind changing lubricants more frequent, go ahead.

My #1 rule.......don't fix anything that isn't broken.
Especially if it's under factory warranty.
