DF70 Low RPM @ WOT

I am only able to reach 4800 RPMs @ WOT. Friend of mine has the same exact boat and motor and is at 5600 WOT. He is also considerably faster. He tops out at about 25 and cruises at 18. I'm lucky to see 16 at WOT.


Both of us have a 13 1/4 x 14P stainless Suzuki. The only smaller one Suzuki shows is a 12P.

I don't think the boat should be over propped with the current set up. I think that the throttle travel may need some adjustment. Is it possible to adjust the cable to allow more travel?

Screw out the plastic ends of the cable to make it longer. Open up the cowl and see if your throttle moves through the whole stroke, adjust if necessary.
