Thanks for your interest. I'll try not to get up on my soap box but here's the final scoop.<br />The guy from troubleshooter.com called and wanted to know if I would go on the air with my problem. I said sure. He proceeded to basically call me a scumbag on the air, because I work for a local municipality and tried tried this threat against a company who sent an unsolicited fax.<br />My bosses suspended me for a total of two days with pay during their 'investigation', then came back and decided that for punishment I should serve two days suspension without pay and serve a one year probation, any further screw-ups I would be terminated.<br />I decided to appeal that action, with the administrator for several reasons:<br />1)I have had a stellar record during my 15 year employment,<br />2) The charges cited in the disciplanary memo did not match what was discussed during the 'investigation',<br />3) I admitted the fax i sent was in poor taste and was only an empty threat etc.<br />4) Stated that those whom I work with daily and truely know me, know that I usuall act on the side of caution and am an honest person.<br />The next thing I know, I got a call stating that my days of suspension were on hold until 'the hearing'. The hearing involved 3 administrator types and their attorney. When I heard attorney, I knew they were out to can me.<br />I asked my immediate boss if it were possible to withdraw my request for appeal and drop things. He said yes. I also found out in this discussion that the sorry *******'s had talked with the prossecuting attorney, and he was supposedly ready to press charges against me for an attempt to extort money! What a load of BS!<br />So they won this one, I swallowed what little pride I had and will extend my planned vacation by two days without pay. Hopefully I can get through the next year without them finding some sorry reason to can me. I know I pissed them off for 'questioning their authority', so that me be tough to do.<br />Unfortunately I make pretty good money, and could not go anywhere else and make that kind money. I have considered stepping down from my position and keeping my employment, but I would still be within the ******-** system. May try to ride out the next five years and hope the admins hang themselves.<br />My advice to everyone is, do not try to threaten or collect on unsolicited faxes, if the fax did not come through on your personal fax machine.
