Hello all I'm new to the forum thing but have a question. I have a1998 mercruiser 7.4 liter 454 with a bravo 3. Engine serial number is 0L085239. I have an alarm sounding when I start the engine, it continues and doesn't turn off. According to my guages and a visual inspection everything seems good. I've been doing a lil poking around and found water in my gas. Will that make the alarm sound or do u think I have something else going on. This happened in May when I put it in the water and I'm just getting around to looking at it. ( Been a long busy summer :( lol). Anyway any help or insight will be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Solid alarm can be low oil pressure, overheat, or low drive fluid.
horn beeping on and off is low voltage to a sensor

Thank you. Would bad or dirty connection at sensor cause this. will the alarm only sound for those three things?? As I stated I found water in the fuel so working on that as well.

Ok guys so I think I chased down my sensor problem. Thanks for the advice. I now have another problem entirely different. I took the boat for a test drive and it wouldnt get up past 2700 rpms. It wouldn't get out of it's own way and I couldn't get it to plane off. In nuetral it will go up to 4000 rpms no problem as soon as it has a load 2700 is the max. It idles fine doesn't seem to be missing or sputtering. I don't even know where to start with this. Oh I did replace the water fuel separator yesterday. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
