Diagrams for 20hp Chrysler

Hi all,

I just picked up a 1979 20hp Chrysler outboard motor from a guy model #202H9K. I am trying to check the impeller to make sure everything looks good before I run it. Where can I find some diagrams to help me along this process? I have read the Step by Step Impeller change by Frank. It is just some things don't match his description.

I am new to working on boat motors but have worked on other small engines so I think I can do it. I am not familiar with the names of everything and I think that is my problem.

Does anyone have any advice for me on what I should check or do before running it?

I think this forum is great...you guys answer alot of questions. I fIgured I would go ahead and ask mine instead of search on here for the answers.

Please post some pics. I?ll try and post pics of my 1970 35 HP Chrysler experience that went well. BUT! From automotive training and etc I have learned it?s hard to beat reading a manual?s steps first. Then watching an experienced mechanic do a job that you d/n have a feel for before tackling the job the next time. What specific questions do you have? I tried to find my best post of my impeller job w/o seeing what I felt I posted (searching wickware). Good luck! jow

I got it figured out. I checked out the impeller and water pump and they both looked good. I ran into another minor problem that I will have to order the part for.
