did i do a no no? breakin procedure question

1981 johnson 140trlcim freshly rebuilt and i was just looking over the breakin procedure right here and i saw that i shouldnt run ANY fuel with ethanol for at least the first ten hours ? its only got about an hour and a half on the break in but did i do a no no?

what do you guys think? is there anything any of you experts would like to add to that procedure?
im headed down to florida next week to finish breaking it in and i kinda need to know as ive never broken one in before (car engines yes two stroke no :D)

Well, I see no reason for using high octane gas. It offers no advantage and may produce deposits. I would use 87 octane E10.

It's only my opinion but how many mtrs in this country are broke in on ethanol fuel?? I'll bet quit a lot. Just make sure you have a good water/seperator filter installed such as a Racor where they have a bowl in the bottom of it to check for water. By the way, most marinas down here in FL have non-ethanol fuel.

ok so it sat for awhile before i started trying to break it in i ran it before and it didnt run worth a damn back in december so i bought two carb kits with floats, two power packs, 4 coils, a full waterpump kit, full thermostat kit, and a service valve kit im gonna put all this on when i go down to florida next week and before i try to finish breaking it in

did i miss anything?? before i tried to run it back in december it slept for about 5 years ....
