Did I install this Minn Kota correctly?

It does not look exactly correct, but its more of a function of how the front gunnels mount. If the plate is not level to the water, then the TM shaft will not be plumb. You might try shimming the back bolts with a 1" or 2" block of wood to get it more level, if it does not perform well now.

There is nothing wrong with this install. There is a nice 90 degree angle between the base and the motor shaft. But with the front end of the boat pulled up much higher than the back, it makes the install look incorrect. Put the boat in the water and you will likely find the shaft is perfectly vertical.

I'm not sure but it looks like the motor is not mounted forward enough to allow the unit to latch. When you apply power it will swing up and come out of the water. The drive motor should be parallel with the bottom of the boat.in the down position.

As said it's the angle the boat is sitting at that makes it look off. Looks fine to me.
