Did I mess anything up?

Long story short... I got a 1955 25 hp big twin recently. Read the can wrong (some of writing is missing) and mixed gas il at 20:1. Haven't run it much because I haven't been able to get it to run consistently and it has been smoking a lot (go figure). Did this damage anything else?

Nah...might have fouled the plugs but ya didn't damage anything. Wait for someone else to tell you the correct mix, put it in and enjoy.

No damage done, 24.1 is the correct mix. If its new to you you should go to the sticky files and follow the awaking a sleeping outboard. Once you have everything done you should be good to go. http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engi...ning-a-sleeping-outboard-by-boatbuoy?t=158086
