just built new bunks with pt 2x4x16. no prob, but than I covered them with that shiny green indoor-outdoor carpet, Glued than stapled. seemed like good stuff but it seemsa bit slick. Did i pick the wrong stuff??

Yes and no. It's fine for now, but it will wear out quickly, at which point you'll have PT wood touching your hull. How big a problem that is depends on whether you have an aluminum boat. I'd probably just rip off as much of the carpet as I could then recover the bunks with bunk carpet. If you don't want to do that right away, and I wouldn't blame you if you didn't, you can use it like that until the existing carpet no longer covers the bunks and then deal with it. Either way, no biggie.

I used the grey instead of the green because i liked the color and it felt more dense then the green did but its been working fine for me.

Slick is good, but yes, that particular carpet will wear out quickly because of the plastic fibers. Use it for now, but keep an eye on it for wear. Depending on how much you use your boat it may last you quite awhile.
