Just a little rant here.
A while ago I replaced the engine in my Mother inlaws Intrepid.
It went smooth and all was done.
She borrowed her car to her daughter (not my wife). She wanted me to look at her car now because it has a slight squeaking and an oil leak now.
I asked her to find out what happened, because there's a nice gouge in the under side of the front cradle and a gouge in the harmonic balancer. Plus the Balancer is wobbling.
I told her the balancer needs to be changed ASAP, The oil leak it probably the timing cover because thats the only seal that I didn't change when I swapped the engine out.
1/2 way though summer she says she took her car into Midas for an oil change and they told her the oil pan is leaking.. I told her no, it's not. Timing cover.. BTW when do you want to replace the Balancer? You're gonna damage your engine if that sucker lets go. (She drives 40 miles interstate one way to work).
Fast forward to last week. Her battery craps out, Here I come to the rescue, Told her a cell dropped in the battery. Since you have warranty, run it to the shop. After coming back from the shop, she says,
"I have to park the car, They said I have a bad oil leak and the balancer thing is bad so I can't drive it.. Can you fix it for me?"
I damn near Blew a gasket myself!!! Seriously!!!!
I've been telling her that all summer.. But word of God come from the auto shop... Now she listens!!
Well it's been fixed, and I still haven't been paid.
Just a little vent here.
