OK, probably simple question (A+ in auto shop, D- in Electric shop). Shoving a new electronic distrubuter in the I/O, and tossing the Mallory Flatcap (finally). Just WHERE do you actually put the Dielectic grease on the plug wire connections?

Re: Dielectic grease

On the metal connectors I use it at the cap and plugs. It helps disapate heat and stop corrosion. You may also have to burp the air out of the boots so they will stay connected. If they trap air in the boots they will pop off when the motor gets hot due to the air expanding inside the boots.

Re: Dielectic grease

Thanks...did it on my corvette years ago, and really didn't like the idea on the boots, as although burping will work, a little slick too hold them on..(I raced it in vintage). This distrub has slightly tapered connectors, but I guess a light coat, hook in there to burp, and suction should do the trick..
