Hi captmello
Yes the motor is fuel injected and I was wrong it's a gxi c . Thank you for catching my mistake. Hopefully someone can give me some ideas for repair.

Sounds like the fuel tank pick up is getting clogged and stopping the motor allows it to clear. Or the vent on the tank is perhaps blocked. I know you have said it is not a fuel problem but that is where I would start.

Next thing I would check would be coil or ignition module overheating, I would try and find someone who would let you try a known good coil/ignition module.
Have you checked if you have any fault codes? I think the late Don S posted details of how to make up a cheap tester, have a go at the search button at the top of the page.

Thank you
I am deffinently not going to rule fuel out. I will check that this week end I really hope it's clogged up so I could have closure. I don't think it's the coil getting hot because it starts right back up after dying . The coil would probably take more time to cool off to work again. I really appreciate any more ideas . thank you Iboat forums

Coil test: Run the motor, get up to temp, and get back and touch the coil.
It will be hot but not so hot you can't keep your fingers on it.
Too hot to touch? Then it's probably bad.
