I have a '95 merc. 4.3 XL. Carb is a weber 4 bbl. Had it rebuilt last year due to sitting in storage before I bought it. When I quickly throttle up to get on plane for skier the motor dies. If I realize its going to die, I can throw it back to neutraland it will keep running, I'll throttle up again and it will golike it should but with a little resistance. Having a Mechanic setting the carb. but he is stumped why its doing this. Going to check timing next.

I'd have said your accelerator pump isn't working properly but I'm sure your mechanic has checked that... right? Check the timing and make sure your fuel is fresh. Does it rev up quickly in neutral?

Thanks Magster65 for the reply, I have set the timing and going out today to try it out. The gas is fresh and it seems to die out in neutral also sometimes. Having a different mechanic from work looking at it tomorrow.

Groovy :) . If you don't have any luck I'd check your carb.
