YEAH! AND IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT :p :p

Just kidding LD, just kidding :)

I see that even Walmart is getting worried about the high cost of fuel, and how it is begining to really affect their profits in quite a substantial way.

I saw $3.49 today. Unflippin' believable, but still cheaper than most of the developed world.

Exactly who is buying so much to cause the demand? I think it is totally BS for the extreme jump. Or has China made all their war machines and now need fuel? And for what?

This keeps up, everything is gonna go up except wages!

Remember, everything that is in your home got there by a truck.

Still only $2.80 for diesel here. Filled up the boat tanks last night, comes to about $3.20/gallon after I add the oil. That's more than $1.50/mile...

Yep, I filled the diesel truck tank yesterday at 2.35 per gallon. I haven't checked today so it could be over 3.00 now..

1. More world demand (China and India especially)

2. Lack of refining capacity (There hasn't been a refinery built in the US since the 1970s due to the environmentalists, the NIMBY crowd and over regulation

3. States further complicate things by each requiring specific grades due to their own particular environmental regs

4. Several refineries are off line

5. Rampant speculation of futures (a bubble) do to uncertainty in the ME, capacity issues in the US, and overall increasing world demand

However, I saw an analysis that showed, on an inflation adjusted basis, we are still paying less for fuel today (at $2.50) than we were in 1981

Ralph has precisely nailed the reasons for todays higher fuel prices.

Take a look at the prices of petroleum by-products

Nope not supply and demand. Is there 1/2 as much oil or twice as much demand since we entered Iraq. 100% increase in price. Real cause is the darn liberals kept the price down and almost put the poor oil companies out of business thank goodness we on the right have saved them.

It's price gouging.... 100%...

This morning, the Marathon station at Belvedere and Parker had diesel @ $2.95 a gallon.....

At noon, the Hess station on Okeechobee had diesel @ 2.56 a gallon.... (in pure dis-belief, I stopped and verified that at the pump)

That's a $.39 cent per gallon difference between two stations approximately 2 miles from one another..... That's a $39.00 difference on 100 gallons....

That, Ladies and Germs, is price gouging, IMHO.....

Snapper, that means the Marathon gas in newer. The Hess gas is old, bought at a lower price.

If the Hess guy had any brains hed jack up the price to 2.80. Its still cheaper and the Hess guy could makes tons of profit. :D

You call it gouging, I call it opportunity. :D whoops I mean :(

Ken

Royalties up here as I have lucked out with oil on my property, but the prices are ridiculous and I hate seeing our citizens being cheated. Oil is plentiful.
