Difference Between Fibreglass and Aluminium boats Advice?

Hi there. This is probably a stupid question but Im after some firendly advice. Im looking at making a first purchase of a boat. I have been looking at two types:<br /><br />1. Aluminium Quintrex Brand 5.7M boat and<br />2. Fibreglass Haynes brand appro 5.4M in similar price range<br /><br />I am looking for a half cabin model, as well as upgrading the engine to a decent one which can be used for Waterskiing. Other uses will be fishing and general cruising. <br /><br />Im told fibreglass sits better on the water due to its weight but apparently the quintrex design Hulls are unique and also give a good ride. Can anyone point me in the right direction, even if you give me more questions to consider before making an expensive outlay to make sure I get the right boat. thanks

In the U.S. there is a strong preference for fiberglass boats for saltwater use. But this does not appear to be the case in Australia. Plus your brands will be unknown to most U.S. boaters. I would suggest trying one of the message boards for Australia to get the view for your market.
