this may sound like a crazy question but i need to know if my 1985 v4 evinrude is manual or elictric shift. whats the difference? all this is knew to me, this is my first boat.
yours is manual shift<br /><br />The older engines used a set of electrically controlled solenoids which controlled the valving in a hydraulic system which shifted the lower unit.<br /><br />Manual shift relies on a control lever and cables to physically shift the Lower unit(simpler, cheaper and more reliable)
