difference between the volvo penta 5.7 and the mercruiser 5.7

sorry this might be a silly question im asking, but whats the difference between these engines, i bought a boat at the weekend and it said it had a 5.7 mercruiser engine in it, but the exhaust manifolds have volvo on them, but the air intake says mercruiser


any advice would be great. thank you

Only the bolt on accessories. The long block is GM specifically built marine long blocks.

Chug, what does the outdrive say on it? That's the BIGGEST difference.

so if i want oil filters and spark plugs and oil. can i order them for the mercruiser? as i have the volvo or are these items different

has anyone got the plug numbers and oil filter part number.
