Difference between VRO pump, Vapor Pump

As I suspect my fuel pump is shot I'm researching buying a new one. This is a VRO pump, but I don't use it to pump any oil, that option was not added to this motor. But it is still a VRO/fuel pump, which cost about $350 for my motor. There is also a vapor pump, which looks a lot like the traditional fuel pumps. This pump cost about $70-$80, which is like traditional fuel pumps.

I wonder which one of these pups actually pick up the fuel from the tank, or what is going on with these 2 pumps? If I want to replace the fuel pump, must I buy the VRO pump, which I don't use for the oil, because this picks up fuel as well?

Thanks for the help.

thr vapor pump is a booster. you can try using this pump , it is for an older 115hp, and uses the pluse hose to activate it, leaving the vapor pump in the line also. there is not a Sierra comparable part.

Re: Difference between VRO pump, Vapor Pump

Thanks for that info.

That leads me to this question, since my motor did not come with the VRO option it is pre-mix, but still has the VRO pump which it uses as the fuel pump. (no oil function here, just pre-mixed fuel goes through it) Is there a kit I can buy that rebuilds the fuel pump side?

I found this: http://www.maxrules.com/fixomcvro.html

It seems like what I am looking for. Notice the VRO pump repair kit, for fuel side only for $99. Is this what I want? Is it true that all VRO pumps have the same internal fuel pump system and this kit will rebuild the fuel side?
