I am working on an 1986 85hp Force lower unit. Am looking to replace it and am wondering how many different shaft lengths there are and where these dimensions are measured from.
Two different lengths: 20 inch long shaft and 25 inch extra long shaft. The measurement is not the shaft length itself, rather it is the distance between the transom clamps and the cavitation plate. However, the extra long drive shaft WILL be 5 inches longer than the long shaft.
