I am looking at a 1990 evinrude 20hp that is being sold for parts and am just wondering if it would have a lot of parts that will be able to be put on my 85 20hp evinrude? mainly the carb and fuel pump. and also the prop and lower unit as spares.

thanks

5 years, sorry I couldn't resist :D.
You might take a few minutes and look at the parts breakdown for each engine and see what is the same.

I am not that familiar with the 20HP motors, but on the 9.9/15hp those years were where they changed the carbs ferom a pot metal top to a redesigned plastic top[. The complete carb may or may not fit. The same goes for the fuel pump on most OMCs, a design change & different pump.

You can compare the parts list for both motors here...
