I am stocking up on parts for my 1974 135hp 1357HA. I found a parts diagram on this website iBoats for a 1976 1359HF. It looks like many parts matchup except maybe the impeller assembly and ignition. Does anyone know if there are other parts that don't match? Can I still get a parts diagram for my outboard?

I checked the Mercury parts catalog but theirs goes only as far back as the one you found:apologetic:

Yes Mercury's parts website is invaluable and has helped me many times. So far it's a little tricky because of the year. 1974 is a point distributor for example and I think the 1976 was a electronic pickup in the distributor. Also the impeller assemblies seem to be different. I made that mistake already. Gladly it don't cost me too much. Most recommend buying old motors for parts but I'm not exactly sure which one have similar parts. Is there a post already on the subject that I could study? Thank you for your reply.

I don't know how I missed it. I just bought it. Thank you so much. You really helped me out. If I am going to keep this motor running this was a must. I almost messed up when I posted a message about a whole bunch of Chrysler props for sale on ebay. Next time I will be sure to state that I am just helping others out not trying to sell anything. Plus I think it's important to only post things you can't buy on iBoats like this manual or the props. This is a truly great site.
