Hello, I have a 62 Evinrude Fisherman 5.5hp that I am having some issues with. First was the fuel line and primer bulb. Got that fixed now I can get gas to the engine. I can usually get it started but even then it doesn't want to run unless I give it 40-50% throttle. After too many times of getting it started and then it stalling, it gets very tough to start. I assume I am flooding it after too long. This engine recently had the impeller and carb replaced before I got it. I am thinking the fuel pump may have issues too, but I can't get it to run long enough to even diagnose that.
I had it out at the lake the other day and it ran, and ran very well. Granted I was cruising across the lake at near WOT. All fuel lines replaced and are not leaking. Fuel filter also looks good. I was thinking maybe the float in the carb?
Mainly just looking for a place to start as far as diagnosing this one.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
