Re: Diffrence between 115, 115 optimax, 115 xs?

Four stroke 115HP motor is a four cycle motor The others are differnt types of 2 cycle motors. The four cycle motor will be heavier and require more maintenance. It will likely be better on fuel than the 115xs, and about equal in economy to the Optimax.

The optimax is a direct injected, 2 cycle motor. It uses high pressure air to force gasoline into the combustion chamber, after all ports are closed. it has emissions and economy similar to the 4 cycle Merc.

The Xs is a classic two cycle motor. light weight, pretty simple to build, low on economy and high on power-to-weight ratio.
