I bought an AQUA MAX 14 ft and got totally ripped off craigslist :( The guy sold me the dingy without testing in water, now the boat has a crack on its Transom, I was wondering how should I go repairing it? For now I have taped a silicon tape and double taped duct tape, but I am not sure it will last long,

Please advice, any helpful video links will be great!
I am total newbie to boating

Didn't you inspect it before you purchased it? To get the best advice, I would post this in the boat restoration section.

Soooo I couldn't tell anything from your pic but I googled it and it looks like this is an inflatable boat.

You need to google inflatable boat repair... You are going to have to replace the transom.... Not that big of a deal....

If it's like my inflatable it's got fabric between two layers of structural transom parts... Mine IIRC is 2 layers of 1/2" plywood.....

The fabric makes it waterproof and holds the tubes together and the wood halves fasten to each other through the fabric to make it rigid.

Since you say yours is cracked I guess it must be plastic? Could possibly be replaced with wood.

That dirty old CL guy . . .

The picture does not really help, so maybe take a few more with better light and different angles. The mods can move this to the Resto/Repair forum.
