Dipstick broken off inside

Hi there

Have recently bought a 1991 2655 with 2001 5.7 350 CID MCM.

Discovering more issues with it. Today i pulled the oil dipstick and and it was very short and has obviously broken off. Does this bolt into the oil pan ? wondering if i can take dipstick tube off to recover it.

Also trying to find a battery drain on the boat of around 10Amps constantly... The drain is coming off the battery cable that goes to the starter motor. I took all the fuses out of the fuse block under steering wheel but the battery drain was still present, so im confused what it could be.

a bad alt diode or something connected to the starters main post that shouldnt be there
If its an I/O the tube just pushes into the block, if an inboard its compression fit to a 90deg fitting that threads into the aluminum oil pan

Pull drive, pull motor, pull pan, retrieve broken dipstick. Replace dipstick, replace pan, install motor, align motor, install drive.

Could be the alternator
