Just out of curiosity and I know there is no exact answer to the question but how much addition drag-ergo slowing down the speed does marine growth - vegetation and barnacles - cause?<br />my 26' sea ray at 4k and a 15x17 prop will hit 20-22knots now.

i have seen boats that wont even get on plane if its let go to long<br /><br />its like driveing a car with flat tires <br /><br />i am a littel nuts about it from raceing sailboats but even a small amount of slime on the sides can cut 10% of the speed and even more off the acceleration time <br /><br /><br />tommays

You would be amazed at how little growth it takes to slow down and kill the WOT rpm on a planing hull boat.
