Disabling ONE of the livewells

Our 2000 Adventure 1800 has 2 livewells one fore & one aft. I have only had the boat out twice BEFORE winter so I did not try out the livewells & dont know how they work OR if they operate independently from eachother.. (I primarily catch & release)..

My intention is to use the front livewell for a fulltime tackle box. I dont know how the livewell system works or what I need to plug or disconnect to stop the front livewell from filling with water should we decide to use the aft livewell.. I want to keep the back livewell operational..

Hi Billfo. If yours is anything like ours, and from the sound of things it might be, you can plug the drain hole on the bottom (Wal-Mart sells plugs; get the right size) and turn off the funky looking valve near the top of the aft wall inside the tank (righty tighty). There's also an overflow drain near the top of the starboard outside wall you might want to plug up to keep stray wave water out. -Ken

It was exactly as you said.. Now in another six weeks, I will be able to take the boat out - test it & see if the aft livewell still works & the front one doesnt dribble. Thanks for the info. Never would have stuck my head in there upsidedown & looked around !
