I am looking to convert from drum to disc brakes on my trailer. It is a tandem trailer with brakes on only one axle. Fully loaded my boat and trailer are about 3750lbs. Which brands or kits are preferred around here? I am only in fresh water so not concerned about salt but mostly better braking. I have a Titan model 60 actuator and I know I need to replace the brass fitting to be compatible with discs and will have to add a reverse lockout solenoid. Anything else to worry about?

I believe the actuator will need a different master cylinder to work with disc. Titan sells model 60 for drum and disc.

For the lockout solenoid I would recommend a three port version that blocks actuator pressure and also releases brake pressure to the reservoir. This way you can backup up while facing downhill.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of the residual valve. I was thinking more that the master cylinder bore would be different between drum and disc.
