I am going to be removing my engine from my boat, and the engine harness plug that is behind the carb/intake is on there solid. I have loosened the hose clamp and tried everything to get the plug off, it is a no go. Are there any tips or tricks that I am missing? I assume it should just pull straight off, but on mine it will not budge. The boat is a 1994 Wellcraft 196S Eclipse with a 5.0lx mercruiser.

Thanks in advance.

The cannon plug should just pull off with a little side to side walking/wiggling action.

You may have to carefully try and get under the male boat side plug with a 45 or 90 degree not to sharp pick as some of them have a rubber seal/cover that probably adhered to the female engine side plug after being on for so many years with a hose clamp.

Here's a picture of the engine side plug, http://forums.iboats.com/forum/engin...wiring-harness

Good luck.
