Dish Network?

My inlaws moved into a new house about a week ago. It came with Dish Network, which I also have. They wanted to keep Direct TV which they had at the old house. I ended up with her reciever and dish. My wife wants me to hook up a TV in the kids room. As I was looking at the Dish stuff it appears that the reciever might have to be special for multiple hookups. Is this right? I need all the help you can give me as I am really lost on this one.

Re: Dish Network?

You'll need at least a multiplex switch/splitter to feed the signal from the dish to the additional room. I am not sure if you'll need a multi-signal dish or not. Good Luck.

Need Dual LNB at the dish

Need to call Dishnetwork, without service on that receiver, you won't get anything. They authenticate your receiver and access card inside of it.

I'd give them a call, they may be able to help you by either letting you activate the 2nd dish ($5 per additional TV) OR, they may be able to give you a new and improved dish because you are bringing on more service.

But you can't just run a splitter and be up and running, not like cable.

Chances are if you call dish, they can set you up with a new dish and install it free and give you another reciever or use the extra one you now have and charge you another $5.00 per month for the extra room. Its much easier than you think.

Ya we are gonna call them anyway. I wasn't gonna try to scam it past them because ya'll are right about the card. I have the 500 system but my reciever is 8 years old, since they bought the other net out.
