Hello everyone,
Since I am in the military and Disney World is offering a promotion this year me and my family are seriously thinking about going to Disney World in Florida this year say June timeframe. My question is have any of you stayed at the Disney Fort Wilderness Campground in Florida? If so, how much did it cost per night to stay there? I own a 32 foot camper and would like to take it down there since gas has came down in prices and hopefully they will still be down at that time. Thanks again, Bob from Scott AFB Illinois.:)

Step one. Go to Recreation Services on base. There are SO MANY offer's out there but you want the one that is "real" and not some company just using it to their advantage. I would start on base first.

I know I am eligible too since I am retired (Army)..... ;)

My only comment is........ June is a hot month in FL

Cheapest place to stay in disney and a top motor home park.

You can rent a golf kart and drive that around.

Make reservations now for the hoop de doo dinner show now.

They sell out.

Go to the disney website but yes i would stay there if i had a motor home they also have cabins for rent there.

Having lived in FL, I doubt there is that much difference in temperature between there and where the OP lives. The average in June is going to run about 90-91 for a high and 72-73 for a low. The real difference may be that June is part of the 'wet' season in FL. Daily downpours, though often short, are normal.

It feels like we have it worse here in MD during the summer with the heat.

Man, it has been 15 years since we stayed at the Fort Wilderness Campground! Can't help you with the current prices, but it sure was an awesome campground and a great time!

You should goto the Disney web sight. You can get pricing there for your travel dates.
We went to Disney World about two years ago in August. But we stayed in one of the hotels right there. It was nice, walk out the lobby and hop on a bus to goto the park of your choice.
It was HOT, about 90 with 100% humidity:confused: We would go out in the morning until about 12-1pm. Go back to the the hotel and go back about 5-6pm. Wasn't to bad that way.
You will have a blast:p:p. Have fun......

Re: Disney Fort Wilderness Campground prices?

We are leaving in a few weeks for our first family trip to Disney and we are staying at Fort Wilderness in our Pop Up.
We will be in the full hookup loop due to friends in Motor Homes needs.
We will be there 6 nights with 5 of those nights being lower/off season rates and 1 night being a peak season.
5 off season-$57 a night
1 peak season-$91 a night
Total 6 nights $423.00

While reading a Disney Forum http://http://www.disboards.com/ to get most of my info I did see several conversations for benifits for Military Personnel.
Deffinitly look into it.
Their number is 407-934-7639

Just to give you an idea of tickets a 4-6 day pass for one person (10 yrs. and above) is around $220.
A child ticket is a little cheaper.
This is a basic ticket that will only get you into one park per day.
There are many other ticket options that cost more but give you more flexablilty.

Then there is meal plans to consider.
We didn't go that route due to we plan to utilize our camper to eat most of our meals at.
But basically a meal plan costs $40 per person per day (10 years and older).
This will get you a main meal, a lunch and a snack.
I think a pretty good deal if you are eating at the park all day. I hear it is expensive to eat in Disney.
You have to get one for every person on your site if you get the package.

It's hot in the summer...
Feb. has average highs of mid 70's:)
FW is probably booked by now for Feb. but there is always cancellations.
June might be as well.
We booked about 5 months ago.
