I bought a house with an old 14" fiberglass boat in the backyard--old paint, no motor, no title. I want to get rid of the thing. I have a trailer. Any advice on disposing of it?
Put a sign on it... "FREE", take it away...

Or take it to the dump...

If I was in the area, I'd take it off your hands.. Might even give ya a buck or two for it..
Matty D- As I see you live here in NJ don't tell anyone of any plans to get rid of the boat. Just covertly do it and be happy. I used a
saws-all and cut it up into nice little pieces and put it out with the trash a little at a time. the dumps won't take it without a bill of sale here in NJ and then plan on a couple of bucks to do it like 100.00 Nothings for free here you should know that! Why do you thing they left it for you!!!!!! You should have thru your contract made them dispose of it. I have had people tell me of it costing 600 to 1000 to remove old wood boats left behind. Just do it one piece at a time. By the way what type of boat is it for free. steve
Having grown up in NJ and now happily residing elswhere I have a suggestion. Park it out front and use it for a planter. Or take it to one of the pine towns somebody there will use it for a planter. "L". Here restrauters decorate the outside of thier bussiness with half boats/cars/planes crashed into the side of them.
don't take it to the dump! if you can't give it away or sell if for $100, bring it to the SPCA, Goodwill, or other charity organization. You get a nice tax break and feel good.
The dump wants approx. $1500 to take this one away. Cut up or whole is the same price. 10 tons. Been a tough winter up here. So my summer hobby/project is to load up the Lund with rocks, couple hundred pounds at a time, and when I get 3000 lbs out there, there's a new dive site a coming.
