The tune up kit I just bought for my 1984 Tempest has no lubrication pad included to oil the distributor cam, or any way to fit one, should I be concerned?
Auto shop 101 circa 1966 you used to put a dab of distributor cam lube on the cam. I still have a tube of it in my tool box from the early 70’s. You cal also use marine grease just a little bit. If that’s a Prestolite distributor pull off the rotor & see if there a a lubrication wick inside. If so give it a few drops of oil every season. That lubes up the weights & springs underneath the points plate. Centrifugal advance mechanism…
