Re: Distributor position

hello
affa
hahah no burning here.
I am a multitalented tech. I can fix the boat then go fix dinner and debate politics in the meanwhile :) .
anyway on the head gasket. it will depend on the type of gasket materiel and the gasket manufacturer. omc gasket sealing compound or quicksilver perfect seal is acceptable for every gasket you are going to replace on this project. do not use silly cone anywhere on this project. clean everything and wipe with alchohol or acetone. dont force anything and be patient. it will work if you take care and have patience and READ the service manual. I can give lots of tips that the manual does not but you must have an understanding of what the end result will be. good luck and keep posting

Re: Distributor position

Hi Rodbolt
The thing is I cant get a manual here in Norway, and shipping from US is a 100$, and its to late for me to have it sent with the stuff Ive ordered.
I was thinking in the beggining I could manage with out a torque wrench, but Ive found out I need one, and to find out about different torque settings, I have all of them I think, except for the cylinder head.
Regards
Affa

Re: Distributor position

hello
cylinder head goes in the stages. 35ft-lbs then 60 ft-lbs then 90 ftlbs. use a spiral pattern if you dont have a diagram of the sequence. its not hard. good luck. the manual for a 230-250 CID auto/truck chevy inline 6 will work for a lot of this. same basic engine.
bore changed a little, not much else
