Hello all ,

77 OMC electric shift with a 302

When I was doing my points this spring , I figured I would take a took at the advance weights and make sure they are moving freely . I noticed that one of my springs was broken, the smaller one of the 2 is broke . The large one is fine and still limiting the movement overall .

I cant find any info on the springs or a kit, its not even listed on the BRP parts catalog. Just the dizzy itself and the points components. Does any one have any ideas on where to get a replacement ?

edit - sorry this is the stock prestolite dizzy with a clamp down cap .

thanks in advance

its an old prestolite distributor. you will need to find a shop that rebuilds distributors. you wont find it in a catalog.

or upgrade the distributor.

OK ,cool thanks for the response Scott. That explains the lack of info out there on these springs.

Do those shops still exist ? thats gotta be a pretty slow workday these days haha .

Not a ton of options there for Fords either , DUI is about the only only newer style one that I have seen anyways
