I know that value of a boat is very subjective and it's only worth what someone is willing to pay. But I thought I would ask anyway. It's a 12' Mirrocraft from the late 70's early 80's. It has a 5hp Scott Atwater that runs well. I was asking $300 for the boat and $100 for the motor. I guess the down side is there is no trailer. Does this seem in the ballpark. With the price of scrap aluminum I would think it would be worth $175 as scrap.

Absolutely not. IMO it is actually priced low.

You are just not demonstrating patience. If a person offers you less than $300 just tell them thank you for looking.

Go ahead and price a 12' aluminum boat..... a new one. A new one with a small 4 stroke 6 hp will run around $2950 retail w/o trailer.

So far I have turned down several offers that were less than what I am asking. It's one of those deals that if I don't sell it it's no big deal. And if nothing else I will keep the motor as a spare and give the boat to someone that can't afford one and want's to take a kid fishing.

It really depends on your local market. I just sold a 14' Valco (that leaked) with a Johnson 20 HP, both circa mid 60's, and a fairly new Harbor Freight trailer, for $650. I had originally listed it for $750, and had about 7 or 8 people come to actually look at it and about a dozen calls. It took two weeks, two re-listings on craigslist, plus three local sportsman forums that allow 'for sale" ads. If you were here, I'd say you were priced a little low to just about right. Patience is the key. If you have confidence in what you are selling and what it is worth, stick to your guns. A buyer will come along sooner or later.
