i have a 1990 johnson 150 gt on a 1987 ranger 360v bought it last year. it has a 14.5x19 mich wheel ss prop hole shot is good it gets up and planes fast it gets top speed fast also. wot 5300rpm 43 mph i think the boat should run a little faster i dont have a jack plate. would a prop change help if so what size . i dont know what prop size was on the boat when new the rpm range 4500-5500

sounds like to me you are where you should be at... your prop right now puts you on the high end of the recommended manufacturer range and thats where you want to be at... with a 150 i think 43mph is about right... you might be able to get a different prop and gain a few mph... which one? im not sure...
