Do I have to flush engine if I run in fresh water?

Merc 4.3 I/O -- All the threads mention flushing after saltwater- but If run 3-4 hours in Fresh water do I need to flush when I return home?

Not unless you are running in real dirty water. A flush after that may help keep the block and manifolds cleaned out of silt.

Thanks - I am do my 100 hour service- and wanted to make sure I am not doing something wrong

Or running in Silver Glen; what a mess, with the vegetation flying all over the boat, and sticking to it.

I flushed mine for 5 minutes.
