Do I need more cup on my prop?

I have a 13x19 Mercury brushed SS prop on my 115. It has great hole-shot, but fails to "hold" itself in the water. When I put on the Michigan 21P polished SS prop, which has much more aggressive cup, it holds much better and lifts the nose of the boat correctly, but I don't like the hole-shot. I figured that the 13x19 needs more cup to grip like it should or like the 21P prop.

Is the cupping of the 13x19 prop the main problem?

Boat props are like women. The more cup the better.

Well, almost. If the 21 carries the bow but has a bad holeshot most likely you can raise the motor and improve both holeshot and top end.

Cup placement can make a prop do different things. If your boat needs help carrying the bow then tip cup will help as well as extending the cup further around the tip.
