Do I need to change carb jets on a 1993 135 Black Max?

I currently have a 1987 90hp Merc outboard with three carbs. I live at sea level (and use th boat occasionally at sea level) but I fish mostly at 5,000 - 7,000 feet altitiude. So I'm constantly swapping out the high-speed jets to accomodate the differing altitudes - it's a pain in the butt. I'm looking at a 1993 135hp Black Max. Will I have the same issue with that motor? Thanks!

Pretty sure you will. If it has carbs I am certian of it.
I had a 2003 merc 4 storke 60 HP that would not even get on plane at those altitiudes but ran like a bat out of hell when I came back down to sea level.

Have you tried a smaller prop instead of changing the jets for high elevation?

You might be able to lean it down slightly at sea level, and just change props at altitude.
