Do I need to remove my motor?

Started my re-flooring project of a 18 1/2 foot 1986 Sunbird bow-rider I/O. I cut most of my floor out to determine the extent of the damage. All the floor is rotten. Stringers and sub-structure are good. I shored up the hull so I can pop the cap and re-do the whole floor. Do I need to remove my engine if the motor mounts and sub-structure are good? I have read a bit on re-flooring and know to keep an eye on the hull to keep it true. This is also why I got the boat off the trailer and shored her up. Would the motor and out drive put undue stress on the hull with the Cap removed? Thanks guys

I would remove the motor if for no other reason than to have clear access to everything and not have to work around the engine.

If you don't remove it you might end up not being able to get the top to fit back on, i would remove all the weight i could to keep the hull as close to original shape as possible, take it off the trailer and brace the hull if you don't the sides of the hull will buckel in or out then oh woa is you.
