I have an Alpha 1 gen II. I am replacing the water pump. Do I need to torque the bolts for the metal housing and if so how much? If not, do they just get snug or cranked down?

i assume you mean the waterpump housing located in the lower. use a torque wrench... 60 in. lbs.... that's inch lbs, not ft. lbs...

you need a service manual. go to the adults only sticky at the top of the i/o forum. go to #9 and get #14...

google searched , torque the bolts Alpha 1 water pump
found this info
DON'T over tighten the nuts!!!!
If you over tighten the nuts you will ruin the water pump.

A torque wrench is your friend. It ensures the nuts and bolts are tight without overtightening, it takes out the guess work. Find the correct spec and torque them all down that way you will not have any problems.

Have a great day,

Rob.
