I recently purchased a 15 hp motor with electric start for my older 14 ft MirroCraft boat. Do I need more than one 12 v battery? I have a MinnKota Endura C2 50lb thrust trolling motor and an older Eagle 128 fishfinder. I plan to add bow and stern running lights.

Can I run start the motor and run the trolling motor, fishfinder and running lights with one battery?

Thanks

welcome aboard.

with a trolling motor, two batteries is recommended. you can run them with one battery, however your going to be pull-starting your motor

Thanks. I was afraid of that. May have to give it a try for awhile as I not ready to buy another battery yet. Guess I need to get ready to pull-start.

You can pull start the outboard, so you don't "need" 2 batteries, but it's best to have 2 for more run time and added safety.

Also nice to have 2 batteries so a bad battery does not ruin a fishing trip.
