Long story short. I bought a 2010 11'6" Inflatable from auquamax direct last summer. It was sold to me by Mitchell E Silbowitz, the owner. He basically sold me on their 5 year warranty, and service after the sale.

A month or so I called and told them that the glued area attaching the tubes to the transom was seprating. Liz from aquamax told me no problem, send a photo. I could get it professionally repaired and they would re-imburse me. Fast forward to yesterday after not hearing anything she informed they were going out of business, and they will not pay any warranty claims. Then she proceeded to tell me the were several others "in the same boat". Nice choice of words, huh?

At any rate, this slimeball Mitchel Silbowitz is a NY attorney, so I am sure all his bases are covered as to his liability for warranty claims after he locks up shop.

The bottom line is this. I am out, and it is a lesson learned. But, they are still operating and selling, they just wont service anything they sell. They will just collect your money until they close. Nice business pratice!

Do not buy from Aquamax Direct or mitchell Silbowitz!!

A cautionary tale about buying a no name inflatable that does not have warranty stations...A lesson everyone should understand before they buy a crap boat over the Internet from a fly by night importer. JimXeod's story should be made a sticky under inflatables to warn off others before they buy a no name boat.
